Look behind you....don't see anyone? If that's the case my friend then you"re probably not the leadership of your mlm organization. You are either following everyone or just going for a walk alone. I know, you're doing all the stuff the book told you; but the solution may be hidden in these rarely discussed leadership characteristics.
There are five essential elements that are key characteristics to successful leadership in a network marketing business. We all here regularly hear about attitude, discipline, skill, determination and the like. But the ones rarely mentioned are alignment, alpha leadership, being present, preparation and professionalism. So lets just get to it cuz you've got places to go, things to do, people to lead..right?
Lets begin at the beginning,.."A"..for Alignment, a word that is seldom heard in leadership terms, but critical in achieving your goals. So what does it mean to be aligned? And exactly what should you have aligned in order to maximize your results.??
If you think of this in musical terms you can easily see the point. A symphony, for example, is simply a well orchestrated aray of instruments notes and musicians all carefully organized to perform a single melody. A note struck out of harmony with that melody woud be considered "sour" because it is out of alignment with the melody.
The tune you want to play would be analagous to your vision. Your written goals and action plan would serve as the score. You might see your mind and body as the istruments and your beliefs and emotions as the notes and chords. In this example harmony would be achieved by the careful execution of each note. Any emotion, belief or thought expressed out of alignment with your vision would be considered out of alignment and sbsequently tossed out.
Alpha" ... (the first letter of the Greek alphabet) is all about posture. An Alpha Personality is a person who has overcome the fears and anxieties many people feel when it comes to things like, meeting new people and speaking in front of an audience. "Alpha" is all about confidence and confidence comes across in your posture. People want to follow people who exude confidence and authority.
Being present is the trait that allows you to leave the past in the past and the future in the future. It is that level of concentration that blocks out all distraction to focus completely on the task at hand, in the moment it is at hand. All effective leaders know that the future... is written in the present.
Are you mentally and emotionally "Prepared"? Why is this important?? Because in all honesty the vast majority of people you meet will not have the characteristics you want in a business partner. This is the importance of "preparation". It is the mental and emotional toughness to meet and overcome all obstacles and a must trait if you expect to succeed not only in this business...but in any business.
Lastly, by most peoples definition "professional" is any one who gets paid for their talent, service and expertise. Yet we all know people who are getting paid and are considered very un-professional. You might be able to get away with that if it doesn't require the trust and confidence of other people. But leadership implies that there will be someone behind you with some level of expectation particularly when you're involved in an mlm or network marketing business. That level of expectation has to do with the way you present your self, handle your business and your people. Unless your presentation is aligned with professionalism, don't expect people to follow you far.
this journey you're undertaking will undoubtly have its tribulation. Accept the fact that you will naturally feel some hesitation and anxiety when facing your challenges. But learning to overcome those anxieties is the purpose of vision.
